Animation Now!

Taschen has released a book, I believe quite recently, called Animation Now! If you like animation, buy it. Simple as that.

Not only is the book filled with nearly 600 pages of full-colour, high-quality stills (ranging from traditional animation, to stop-motion, and of course, 3D), it's also sprinkled with sketches and interesting bios on animators and animation companies.

Best of all, the book comes with a DVD – over 3 hours of shorts, excerpts, and animated commercials. There are even a few "making of" documentaries worth checking out.

uDevGames 2004

A while back, I went through a programming phase – Mac game programming actually. Although I have no experience (or for that matter, proper schoolin'), I convinced myself to enter in a three-month long contest, uDevGames – at the end of it all, the creators of the best games would win some very cool prizes.

I didn't finish. Actually, I think it all pretty much fell apart for me after the first month and a half.

Some very cool developers did finish, though, and their works are all available for free. There are some really great games here for Mac gaming fans, so try them out, and let the developers know what you think about all of their hard work.

(Oh, and while I didn't finish my entry for the contest, I did manage to make this snappy little mascot for them)
